Addie-isms

As you know, Addie is spunky to say the very least. She is full of vim and vigor and sometimes a little wild. We never know what Addison will say or do, and this sometimes has me holding my breath. Two classic Earth Conscious Addie-isms...

1) Addie hit her head (pretty hard) on the pew in front of us in church. She started to cry and after some comforting from Daddy, she stopped crying but had a runny nose. Jamie was holding her. She said, "Don't worry daddy, I don't need a tissue, I just lick my snot"... save a tree...

2) I was driving with Addie in the car. I could hear her spitting and spitting, and just hoped that it wasn't all over my seat back... I asked her Addie, "Addie, are you spitting?" "Nope, mommy. I'm just washing my hands." save some water....

Love you Addie, thanks for making me laugh every day!

Hoppy Easter!

The Easter Bunny stopped by the Burton home last night... The kids got some nice things in their easter baskets...

Silly Bunny Girls...

Halle with her bunny face....

Bunny Cake for lunch! It is brownies!

The kids got a Disney Dance Dance Revoluntion for the Wii...
The kids were great easter egg hunters and found all the eggs that had been hid around the house. What a fun morning... Now the challenge is to bring the kids off their high and to get them ready for church..

The Yard

Working in the yard all day Friday and Saturday proved to be therapuetic and a lot more work than I originally thought it would be... Our yard was in dire need of some TLC--the builder put in the bare minimum of plants so randomly and to top it off, some person dug ot half of the plants before we moved in last summer...
Here is an almost "before" picture. I had moved the ligustrum tree, and planted some pitosporum shrubs next to the front of the house.

Another "before. I had planted the sego palm and was starting to dig out the grass to make the shape different...

Addie decided to come help me work in the yard... She got herself dressed by herself! Yes, that is her swimsuit and snow boots! All pink and princess! She uses the rake grandpa cut down for the kids when he was visiting one time... We had to re-sod the front grass area...

Happy Birthday Dad

It would have been my dad's 63 birthday today. I can't believe it has been a month since he passed away--it all seems so surreal still. Gone but not forgotten... Where ever you are, Happy Birthday Dad!

Halle's Spring Program

Halle and her Kindergarten class ready for the spring presentation

Halle was a beautiful butterfly. She sang and danced with her class.

Halle and Mrs Cornett. It was Mrs Cornett's birthday and she came for the Spring Festival and to introduce her new baby boy to her class. She will be back from Maternity leave soon. Halle brought her some beautiful flowers...

Halle and DJ. DJ was able to come to Halle's class for the activity. What a proud big brother!

Halle made her lovely wings in art class.

Our cute little Butterfly. She had really wanted to wear a different dress, but mom talked her into her lime green polo skirted dress--and it matched perfectly with her costume.
She is learning that mommy has pretty good taste!

Blast from the Past

Roommates way back in the day at Southern Utah University: Theresa and Crystal

This past weekend Jamie and I took the kids to Tampa to visit my college roommate, "T" aka, Theresa. It had been 9 years since we had seen each other, and it was a wonderful visit. T was in town for the AAHPERD conference and was staying on Harbour Island--truly a beautiful place in Tampa. We had dinner at the Cheeseckae Factory and visited at her hotel for a short while. It was great to see her, introduce her to the wild girls, and catch up on old friends...
