DJ and Christian dancing --oh yea! Bringin out the ole school moves!
Yep- that is the ROBOT! It worked- they won!!!
What a great couple of months. We were SOOOO SOOO lucky to have my mom, Kelly and Val, Christian, Syd, Kate and Zach come to Florida to visit for nearly a week. Even though we had to rough it out at Disney World, (tongue in cheek) it was WONDERFUL!!! The kids had a blast giong to the parks, seeking out autographs and braving the awesome rollercoasters and other dangerous rides. We laughed and cried (from laughing so hard) and just had a wonderful wonderful week. While we were there, it was Veterans Day--which was neat to spend with Kelly, who is a Major in the Army and to honor his continued service to our country... Addie wants to trade our house for the hotel:)
My mom got to come home to Gainesville with us--her first visit to Gator country. To my almost horror, our addition was NOT complete, almost a month delayed--and our house was a DISASTER~! Her guest suite wasn't finished, but she was a trooper to stay in DJ's room for a night before leaving for her week long cruise:) Oh what a hardship she endured for our family to go on the cruise so we could finish her room! The cruise was so fun for her, and a much deserved treat... She recently retired after 30 years of teaching school--most of it Special Ed and the cruise was long over due...
When she returned, we went to the beach for a week~it was rough, but someone had to do it:) We stayed in a condo RIGHT on the Beach and it was breathtaking: sunsets, sunrise, the crash of the water as it hit the shoreline, walks on the beach, shopping, and a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner to cap of a special week to remember. We were all so sad to take my mom back to the airport--the kids all wanted to fly to Utah with her and had assumed we were all just continuing our weeks long vacation! But like all good parties, it had to come to an end....
I am fortunate that I only missed one day of work for all of our adventures!!! After a rather taxing year full of an array of emotions, it was so nice to spend some quality time simply enjoying the day with the fam... It is amazing how many memories you can pack into a small amount of time... In the end, it is the time we spend with each other that we remember-or what I oft time have remembered over the years. A picture is worth a thousand words, but the moment behind the picture is priceless.... I hope I have given some priceless memories to my children.
